1-On-1 Coaching

We provide personalized coaching to instructors and school/program leaders to support their understanding and build equitable and sustainable online learning design.

Professional Development

We provide professional development to schools, districts, and university programs. Available sessions for AY 2021-2022:

1. Don't Feel the Burn: Building Sustainable Structures in Online Learning and Reducing Burnout-
In this workshop, participants learn to build a design structure that reduces the common burnout of online learning. Participants learn how to frontload in their course design through video production and the flipped classroom approach.

2. The Power of Language Part I: Equitable Online Course Policies
Words matter in traditional classrooms, and they matter even more online. Giving direction and policy information may seem simple but can leave a lot of room for interpretation when not made clear. In this workshop, participants will learn how course policies and directives can provide an equitable experience for students.

3.  The Power of Language Part II: Equitable Visual Design
As a follow-up to Part I,  this workshop provides participants with practical steps to ensure the visual design is equitable. For example, what message is communicated through the graphics used in an online course? Do students see themselves in the content? Are visuals accessible to all students?

4. The Power of Language Part III: Student Voice
As the final part of The Power of Language Series, participants will learn methods and design considerations to sustainably center student voice and participation. For example, what makes an effective and engaging discussion board? A practical and exciting live session?

5. Make or Break: How Tech Affects Learning Design
Learning design and technology must go hand in hand in blended, hybrid, and online learning spaces. While technology does not drive learning, the curriculum does; it is the car that gets teachers and students from points A to B. This workshop provides participants with the knowledge of what technologies make things easier or harder in their online education space.
